PERSONALITY

Compared to the last time he went public, which was three years prior to JOCT, Aramis seemed to have mellowed down when it comes to how he acts, which gives him an even more fatherly aura. His emotions might have also been blunted at first sight, but always know that they’re still there. What stayed the same is that he’s still a compassionate and fiercely loyal family man who will get out of his own way to help others. He is also a good sport when it comes to battles; it’s all in good fun for him.

BACKSTORY

I. The Twist Mountain Incident

Aramis was raised by an entire family of Breeders. This goes without saying that the family are naturally protective and compassionate when it comes to Pokemon and other people in need. This environment gave Aramis a caring and protective nature… perhaps even almost at the cost of his life.

Back when he was eight years old, Aramis accompanied his grandfather Eldwin during a volunteer work in Twist Mountain that involved rescuing a few lost Cubchoos and returning them to their mother. The task itself was a piece of cake. Things got deadly when an earthquake suddenly occurred, and Aramis was trapped inside. Fearing an early end, Aramis attempted to go through the mazelike caverns of Twist Mountain, narrowly missing being eaten by a bunch of hungry Cryogonal.

Fortunately for Aramis, the experience itself was easy enough to put behind… or so he thought.

V. The Scariest Breeder in Unova

Right after leaving the Ohana Islands, Aramis was scouted by the Unovian Secretary of Defense himself to become the head of the newly-established Department of Dangerous, Special, and Illegally-bred Pokemon, which Aramis reluctantly accepts at first, thinking that he wasn’t fit for the job. Over time, however, Aramis realized that his new boss has been mentoring him every step of the way, and eventually came to love his new job, no matter how dangerous it was.

Barely three months have passed and several cases of Pokemon theft, poaching, and trafficking had been solved, thanks to Aramis, thus resulting to him earning the title, ‘the scariest Breeder in Unova.’ This, of course, had come with a price, which involved at least one death threat a week. Things have gotten out of hand when Aramis had barely missed an assassination and he was forced to go into hiding.

VI. Exploits in Akala and Ula’ula Islands

Having found a couple of trusted men that acted as his body doubles back in Unova, Aramis saw it best to hide in Alola. Not a lot of people there mind each others’ businesses anyway, let alone ask too many questions, so it was the near-perfect place to go.

With that out of the way, Aramis entered a series of odd jobs, including being a trial guide and a volunteer police officer. However, once the sun sets, he goes back to being the department head he originally was and gives out orders to his doppelgangers through his Xtransceiver, as well as make regular reports to his boss on his current status.

Keeping in touch with his family and friends was difficult, but not impossible. Aramis always made it a point to give his brother a call every now and then, owing to the fact that his brother can worry too much. He was also able to maintain a long-distance relationship with the woman he met back in Ohana.

Other than the fact that he has an extremely hectic schedule, Aramis basically led a quiet life in Alola.

VII. To Kalos and the Jubilee Tournament

After an incident in Unova that involves “another failed attempt in assassinating Aramis,” the Secretary of Defense orders Aramis to flee from his current hiding place for his own safety. Questioning his boss’ order since he doesn’t have an adequate reason to leave Alola, he was then informed that a competition organized by some of his former competitors in Ohana will be held in Kalos. Wanting to assure his boss of his safety, he finally complies.

From here on, we’ll see what happens to Aramis in the said tournament.

I. Family

Siegfried James (Father) – An extremely blunt and goofy man who has a passion for cooking.

Miriam James (Mother) – A large and sociable woman who likes making beverages

John James (Younger Brother) – A severe and uptight man who often scolds Aramis if Miriam fails to do so. He used to be able to see actual ghosts but managed to get rid of this ability... temporarily.

Eldwin delos Santos (Grandfather, Mother Side) – A cheerful and nonchalant old man with the same sense of responsibility as the entire family, that is, before he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Isabela Bolton-James (Sister-in-Law) - John's wife

II. Friends

Hamish Baudelaire (dec.) – Aramis’ senior in the Daycare whom taught Aramis everything he knew about Breeding.

Euclid Eustacio – A coworker in the Daycare where Aramis used to work in. He and his youngest brother often visited Aramis for Breeding tips.

Westly Brentyn-Parson – A Skarmory hybrid that was Aramis’ first friend in the Ohana Islands. No matter how busy Aramis is, he would always try to contact him to make sure that he’s still doing well.

Faridah Akhani – An old woman Aramis met in Ula’ula Island; his landlady that also acted like his aunt, she makes sure that Aramis doesn’t overexert himself.

Rodrigo Dorado - A light-spirited man who rubbed Aramis the wrong way at the start, but eventually came to trust him when he found out that his intentions were pure. Aramis actually considers hiring him in his department due to his love for travelling, but he still doubts whether the latter would agree or not.

III. Love Interest

Mariah Stafford – A woman Aramis met in the Ohana Islands. He and Mariah are constantly in contact with each other since they left the islands and the former is willing to wait for a long time until he can finally ask for her hand in marriage.

Marcus Dillinger – Aramis’ boss and mentor; the Unovian Secretary of Defense.

Athos Holt – One of Aramis’ body doubles; the older of the Holt brothers; apparently, both of them owe their lives to Aramis.

Porthos Holt (dec.) – One of Aramis’ body doubles; the younger of the Holt brothers; apparently, both of them owe their lives to Aramis; recently died in his place and now, Aramis is determined to win the Jubilee Tournament to bring him back to life.

However, Sultan had a newfound trust on the Breeder as a result of the earlier rounds of the tournament he joined four years prior. He is generally quiet and will tend to ignore others, no matter how hard they try. The only other Pokemon he would confide anything with is Triton

Description: Elha used to be an Eevee Aramis caught in Akala Island while he was teaching some Preschoolers how to catch Pokemon. She is somewhat quiet and serious, though not as quiet as Adeaez and not as serious as Sultan, but since she cares the most about Aramis’ other Pokemon, she makes sure that everyone stays in line, especially Almeera.

Description: Nobody can explain where this mysterious Yamask came from except for Aramis. Eyewitnesses say that one day, Aramis just went to work with this Yamask tightly latched on to Aramis, while the latter doesn’t seem to mind in the slightest.


EXTRA ITEMS (because Hoffman occupied that space in the app already)
- WOODEN BRACELET - made and given to him by his younger brother John. It's a wooden bracelet with black beads and a tassel made from Ducklett feathers.
- XTRANSCEIVER - not the original one he had back in Ohana; this one can't be worn on the wrist. Instead, it comes with a longer strap to be worn around the head in a way that it points directly on his face.
- STEEL GLOVE - worn on his left hand when going outside. Not only that it houses his Z-Ring and Keystone, it also hides an embarrassing secret.
- KEYSTONE - bestowed to him by his late friend Hamish Baudelaire as a part of his last will and testament. It is fixed on his steel glove.
- Z-RING - given to him by the Island Kahuna of Ula'ula Island. It is fixed on his steel glove, though not permanently.
- GHOSTIUM Z - given by Trial Captain Acerola for completing the only trial he ever bothered to take on in his two-year stay in Alola. Used to be held by Adeaez, Aramis promptly removed it as soon as they arrived in Kalos.
- UNOVIAN BADGE CASE - contains all the badges he earned during his Ace Trainer days. He carries them everywhere.
- DEPARTMENT BADGE - works somewhat like a police badge; it shows his position as the head of an important department in the Breeding sector of the Unovian government
- DOUBLE BASS - bought in a mall while hanging out with Elika Harel; played in pizzicato (plucked) style.
